My husband and I have a tradition of going to Brigantessa for dinner on Christmas Eve and afterwards we always go for a drive to view some amazing South Philly light displays – The Miracle on South 13th Street and 2700 Smedley Street. This year we decided it was time to bring my toddler along!
My 2.5 year old daughter loves pizza (who doesn’t?) and Brigantessa has a wood burning pizza oven. Upon our arrival we were seated adjacent to the pizza oven and the chef responsible for making all the yummy pizzas, so this was very exciting!
Shortly after being seated, the chef proactively engaged Josie and pointed out to her all the toppings located at her station. What happened next was incredible and so appreciated. The chef presented Josie with her very own ball of dough! This made my daughter so incredibly happy and because it happily occupied her for 10+ minutes we were overjoyed as well! We could sip wine, effortlessly place our food order and before we knew it our pizza and other menu items had arrived. During our meal the chef also presented Josie with a taste of some buffalo mozzarella. Yum!
We love Brigantessa and for us as a couple we had already forged some great memories there, but memories that didn’t warrant sharing with anyone else. However on this visit, the chef’s ability to engage my daughter and create a memorable experience for her, and as a result give us a relaxing dining experience, was so appreciated and worthy of sharing with you!
How has your child/children been made to feel like a VIP at a restaurant, hotel, etc.?
